Can the actual mod be remapped?

I have a ps5 controller and I play with R1/R2 and L1/L2 swapped. When I activate rapid fire either the mod or the game doesn’t recognize the difference. So R1 is my fire button but the mod is mapped to R2. Can I change that to R1? I already tried to activate the mod then swap in game and vice versa and the instructions on here only refer to the back buttons.

You can use all mods in Default Flipped layout, make sure you swap the layout both on the controller and in game setting anfd just follow simple steps in  the video instructions.
