My new controller will no connect to my PS5

I have tried with a wired attempt and a Bluetooth attempt, both several times, and it refuses to be seen by the PS5.

Our record indicated that you've received your controller 2 weeks ago. Were you able to connect the controller to the console before or it didn't work right of the box?

I just got around to attempting to connect it.  Yes, I received it two weeks ago.  Happy so far with exception to connecting. Not sure if it is me or the controller.

Please try connecting the controller with another USB cable. If that won't help please go ahead and send it back for an inspection.

Ok, this has to be me and doing something wrong.

I tried to connect it wired and wireless yesterday, niether worked.  When I try to connect, it just flashes a blue light aroung the touchpad.

Same as the first controller.

Hi James, 

What kind of USB cable are you using. It looks like you may be using an incompatible cord.
